Snowflake Nordic Ski Club, K-6 New Program for 2009/2010! What happens when you take a world-class jumping facility, add a one-kilometer man-made cross country ski track, and direct the program with two coaches with over 50 years of combined Nordic ski racing experience? You get a world-class Nordic ski opportunity in the heart of the coulee region! The Snowflake Nordic Ski program is the newest addition to the club and we are really excited about the opportunities which lie ahead. The Junior Nordic club's goal is to create a fun and rewarding atmosphere for area youth to learn proper cross country ski technique that encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.
The Nordic Ski program is the newest addition to the Snowflake Ski and Golf Club.
Equipment- The club plans to offer Nordic ski packages (skis, boots, bindings, and poles) for all K-6 members. These packages will be available for yearly lease; rental price to be determined.
Practice- Practices will be held Monday afternoons from 4:00–5:00. The start date will be determined by the weather (think cold!). Cookies and hot chocolate will also be served after the session!
Cross country skiing is fun... it's also easy to learn, healthy, family friendly, accessible, affordable, and offers great variety! Cross country skiing uses natural movements - it doesn't require special skills to get started and has a short learning curve.
